Ryan
It had been a really long time since he'd felt so... empty. That was the only word he could grasp at. The only word that felt like it accurately described his sense of being right now. He'd only been here for a few days. Or maybe it had been a week. He couldn't remember. But did he even really care? Ryan had kept up his tough exterior this whole time and he had no intention of letting his guard down now. The people here were either nuts, disturbed, drug addicts, or doctors. He didn't want to deal with any of those people.
Ryan looked down at his plate of "health" food that they had given him. It looked as bad as it tasted. He pushed it around on his plate with his plastic spork and gazed around the room. He was in the cafeteria with all the other kids his age. Some of them ate alone, as he did, and other's sat in little groups scattered around the mess hall. He saw a couple of girls giggling and chattering like this was highschool. He saw several "couples" holding hands under the table where they thought no one would see. He rolled his eyes at the thought. Why do people do this to themselves?
Ryan went back to picked at his food and focused his blue eyes on his plate. He hated it here and couldn't wait to get out. The fact that he was here at all infuriated him. But, he was sure they would have to let him out eventually. They couldn't keep him locked up in this hell hole forever, now could they? It almost felt like his face was set into a permanent scowl. He probably looked better that way anyway.
